Karamoko Dembele pens new youth deal

STAR BOY: Karamoko Dembele

KARAMOKO DEMBELE, the 14-year-old Celtic player, has signed a new youth contract with the Scottish champions.

Dembele emerged into the public last year, bursting onto the scene when making his debut for Celtic's Under-20 side - at the age of 13.

He has since made his international debut for Scotland's Under-16s at the Victory Shield, while also being invited to train and play with England's Under-15s, reports the Daily Record.

The young attacker - who has turned out for both the Scots and England - was at the centre of a major tug of war between the two oldest nations in international football earlier this year when both sides let their interest be known.

After the deal was done, Dembele's father, Losseni, father told how he dreams of seeing his son play in front of a capacity crowd at Parkhead.

He told the Celtic website: "For me it's about my son's development and I feel that there isn't a better place than Celtic for him at the moment.

“He has been here since he was six-years-old and it would be brilliant to see him playing at Celtic Park in front of 60,000 fans, but I know this will not happen easily and will take hard work and patience."

Dembele himself told how he is determined to make it into Brendan Rodgers' first team.

He told the Celtic website: "For me it's about my son's development and I feel that there isn't a better place than Celtic for him at the moment.
